Status effects are a game mechanic in UD. The player can obtain status effects from various sources, such as eating certain foods, being attacked by enemies, or having a high or low enough temperature.

Any status effects the player has can be seen in the top-right corner of the screen, as well as the effects' icons, duration and amplification level.

When an effect is inflicted upon the player, it has a set "amplification level" (ranging from 1 to ∞). The higher the amplification level is, the greater its effect on the player will be. This doesn't apply to certain effects, such as Blind, Life Eye and Burning.
